SOLO AND ENSAMBLE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!! ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?

Well, yes, yes I am.

This week was our region's solo and ensamble. For those of you who have no clue as to what this is, well, I will start off by telling you that you have to sing. Yes, yes, you have to sing to participate or unless you accompany some one.

First off, you pick a classical song. You work on it really hard. You practice for hours, work on every detail. You perfect every vowel, you make sure you are breathing right. You spend countless hours working on the song untill its just right. :D Then, the performance.

Solo and ensamble refers to a solo vocalist or an ensamble of vocalists. This one at least. It can be for instrumentalists or vocalists. But its all musical.

So performance day. I come to school, a total nervous wreck. I was not very happy. I was quiet, looked upset, totally not in my usual mood. I was just different that day. And you could tell. But it wasn't all for nothing. As the day went on, the only thing I thought about was solo and ensamble.

I was singing a song called, "Every Where I Look" by Molly Carew. This song is about a girl walking through the woods, looking at the trees and singing about how winter is leaving and how she is so happy to have spring here. She is so excited and she has fallen in love. Every thing in her wolrd is going perfect and nothing could make it better that she has met her man.

So what happens with solo and ensamble is students from all over the region go to one school and participate in a festaval. Its not a contest, but some how it tursnout to be one. You go sit in the room and listen to other performers while you wait for you turn.. When its your turn you go and give the judges your origional music, with all of the other music in the book. You need to make sure that all of the measures are numbered just right. Then you go stand infront of the grand piano infront of all of the other waiting performers. Then you sing your heart out.

I spent countless hours practicing for this. I spent even more time stressing over it, but it was all was worth it cause I got a 1. Which is the best you can get and I also qualified for state. Thats where you go on to perform at a state college. This year it is at BYU. I am so excited. Its at the end of April after Band tour.

But here's the catch, not every one makes it to state. Only seven girls qualified from my school as soloists. I am so excited. I can't wait, but I am sooooooo nervous. I just don't know what to do with my self. :D later yall~

My Sweet, Dear, Little, Annoying Brothers....Gotta love 'em.

Alright. Now you must understand these boys before I tell you all their little adventures. You must understand that they are crazy maniacs.

Mckay is 12. He has been that shy little kid from the beginning. When he was little he used to sing in the car, as loud a humanly possible the theme song from Toy Story. The You've got a friend in me. You've got a friend in me. Some other folks can't see you, the way I do.... we'll be best friends for the rest of our lives. Yeah boy, you got a friend in me. Yeah that song. So now, he will hardly talk to any one. But oh boy, if you knew all the things he does, you would laugh your head off. Thats enough for now about Mckay. Except for one thing, he loves to play Nintendo.

Peter, Peter, Peter. This little boy also loves to play Nintendo. He is 8 years old. When he was younger he would be playing Banjo Tooie. When he was working on something that would require extra exertment to press the buttons numerous times, he would push the buttons while jumping up and down with every press of the button. He would sit there for hours, usually when you see some one play Nintendo for the first time you see them trying to steer the chariter by turning their hands with the controll. NO. Not Peter. He would just jump up and down to press the buttons.

Daniel- well of all my little brothers, as annoying as he is, he is soooo much like me. He does the exact same things that I did when I was a little kid. Yeah that would include running around the house, screaming at the top of my lungs THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA theme music. Not to meantion singing what ever song came into his head in the shower at the top of his lungs, yeah I did that one too.... But not to meantion the Gift of Toungs speech. What I mean by that is he will sit there and speak gibberish and think that he is speaking Spanish, French, Chinese, Japinese, Portugese, what ever language you name it. I did that one too. My dad surprised me with that fact cause I have no reccolection of this in my memory. So I trust my Dad. Daniel also did the Nintendo button thing. All three of them love Nintendo. So you know how Operetic singers sing? With the loud, belting, amazing vibrato controll stuff? Yeah Daniel sings like that, but since he is only 5, ok 6 (he is quick to correct me when I am wrong) he doesn't have the vibrato, or the control. But however, he nails the pitch (most of the time) and he has great control. He most definatly is loud though....Oh and he likes to boss people around and take charge, that one I try not to do.

Of all three boys, Daniel and I are most alike when it comes to personality. When it comes to being the keeper of all usless knowledge, Peter and I are the most alike.
